Punk Pentacle

spunky pentacle was inspired by classic tattoo art, and features winged, crowned hearts and birds. It's just right if you're looking for something a little bit *different* for your altar or shrine.

It's crafted out of a composite pine disc, which allows it to be slim and yet very strong. It measures 6.5" in diameter and 1/4 of an inch thick (16.5 x .6 cm), making this one of my smaller pentacle designs. Don't let the size fool you, though; this piece is very bold and striking, and has huge impact!

As always, this pentacle was burned entirely by hand, without the use of a router or laser-etching machine. The design was created the "old fashioned" way, with pencil, eraser, and lots of patience, and the burning was done layer by layer to give beautiful gradations of tone and shade.

The whole piece has been thoroughly sealed with several layers of varnish, to protect it against inevitable wax splatters or incense scars.
